GRANT PROGRAM FOR PRECEPTORS OF HEALTHCARE GRADUATE STUDENTS
2024 APPLICATION


The Arizona Dental Association is excited to announce the State of Arizona Grant Program for Preceptors of Healthcare Graduate Students, in partnership with the Arizona Department of Health Services.

ABOUT THE GRANT:
In 2022, in an effort to address the healthcare workforce shortages in Arizona House Bill 2691 was passed. This bill appropriated state general funds to the five largest statewide nonprofit organizations that represent allopathic physicians, osteopathic physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, physician assistants, and dentists.

This grant will run until June 2027 or until available funds are depleted, whichever occurs first.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this program is to encourage and support more preceptorships for the training and development of graduate students.


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

ELIGIBILITY:

To apply for the preceptorship grant program with the Arizona Dental Association you must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a dentist or specialist who is licensed pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 32, and in good standing.
  • Provide an uncompensated mentoring experience.
  • Serve as a volunteer preceptor for an Arizona graduate dental student with training lasting a minimum of four weeks (beginning on or after June 1, 2023)
  • Provide an educational opportunity for the graduate student to enable the student to obtain an eligible professional degree.

AWARD AMOUNT:
Preceptors are eligible to receive a grant of $1,000 (one thousand dollars) per state fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) regardless of the number of preceptorships the applicant provides in that year.

Following the submission of an application, preceptors will be notified if they have been approved or denied on the first business day of the following month. If approved, please allow up to 30 business days to receive grant funds.

 


APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Submit one application per state fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

Only list preceptorships that have concluded, do not list any that are ongoing. Listing ongoing preceptorships will result in a delay in processing your application.
