Everything membership gives you

AzDA combines statewide advocacy with practical resources that help dentists protect, operate, and grow their practices.

!

More insurance control

Insurers gain more influence over reimbursement, contracts, payments, and clinical decisions.

!

Less clinical independence

Outside organizations gain more power to shape how dentists treat patients and operate practices.

!

Weaker professional oversight

Scope-of-practice and regulatory changes can advance without adequate input from dentists.

!

No one is defending your livelihood

Individual dentists do not have the time, staff, or resources to monitor every proposal affecting the profession.

AzDA exists so Arizona dentists do not have to fight these battles alone.

2026 legislative victories

These are the results of member-supported advocacy delivered for Arizona dentists at the Capitol.

HB2308 Signed into law

Protected dental practices from insurer ownership

Insurance companies and their holding companies may not own dental practices, helping to protect clinical independence, competition, and patient choice.

HB2906 Signed into law

Secured permanent oral surgeon representation on Arizona’s Dental Board

One dentist position on the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners must now be held by an actively practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

SB1019 Stopped

Defeated a statewide fluoride ban

AzDA helped stop legislation that would have prohibited community water fluoridation across Arizona.

HB2326 Stopped

Preserved the Oral Preventive Assistant workforce law

AzDA stopped an effort to repeal or weaken the OPA law enacted during the previous legislative session.

HB2542 Passed House

Advanced preventive dental coverage for AHCCCS adults

The proposal passed the House but was not funded in the final state budget. AzDA continues to work to expand preventive adult dental care.
