Advocacy
Oral Health Day puts dentists face-to-face with lawmakers.
Join AzDA at the Arizona State Capitol to help legislators understand how proposed laws affect dentistry, patient care, and oral health across Arizona.
🏛️
One day. One voice. Real impact.
Dentists speaking directly with Arizona legislators.
What is Oral Health Day?
Oral Health Day gives Arizona dentists the opportunity to participate in the legislative process, meet face-to-face with legislators, and build relationships that help protect dentistry and the patients you serve.
It is also a practical way to connect with colleagues and gain an insider’s view of how public policy shapes dentistry.
📅
When
Oral Health Day is held each year in January or February. The day begins at 8 am, and breakfast & lunch are provided.
📍
Where
Arizona State Capitol
1700 W. Washington
Phoenix, AZ 85007
👥
Who should attend
Any Arizona dentist who wants to protect the profession, support patients, and help lawmakers understand dentistry.
Why you should participate
You do not need to be a professional speaker or political expert. Legislators need to hear from dentists who can explain how legislation affects real practices and real patients.
🗣️
Share your expertise
Most legislators are not healthcare providers. Your clinical experience helps them understand what proposed laws would mean in practice.
🤝
Build relationships
Meeting legislators in person helps build trust and keeps dentistry visible when important decisions are being made.
📣
Show up together
When dentists show up in force, legislators take notice. A united profession is much harder to ignore.
✓
You will not be put on the spot.
AzDA reviews talking points over breakfast and lunch, and dentists visit legislators as a group. You will have guidance, support, and encouragement from AzDA’s Advocacy Team throughout the day.
“
Dentists just need to share their expertise and experience as healthcare providers. AzDA’s Advocacy Team can provide the advice, encouragement, and guidance dentists need to feel prepared to confidently speak to our legislators.
