  • Fluff pieces without practical takeaways.

Send a 2–5 sentence summary of your article idea to the Managing Editor for consideration.

Submission requirements

  • Submitting an article does not guarantee publication.
  • Articles should be between 600 and 1,250 words.
  • Submit articles in MS Word or RTF.
  • Use a common, easy-to-read typeface, such as Times, Arial, Calibri, Garamond, or Verdana.
  • Have someone proofread your article before submitting it.
  • Articles must be original and not previously published elsewhere.
  • Articles are reviewed by the Editor and Editorial Board before publication.
  • Approved articles run based on available space and editorial discretion.
  • AzDA may edit submissions for brevity, clarity, or removal of self-promotional content.

Questions to consider while writing

  • Does your article clearly benefit AzDA members?
  • Will it help members run a stronger, more efficient practice?
  • Does it address an issue members are currently facing?
  • Will it inspire members or provide practical talking points?
  • Does it present AzDA members, sponsors, and organized dentistry fairly?
  • Does it provide insight that could improve patient care?
  • Is the topic timely and relevant?
