  Dental Training

Generally speaking, in order to qualify for a license in Arizona, dentist must have completed four years of training at a dental school that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of American Dental Association. Graduates of dental programs outside the United states are required to complete an additional two years of study at a CODA accredited program of at least two years in duration, and obtain a DDS or DMD degree. Dentists are also required to successfully complete a two part national board examination, as well as a regional clinical examination in order to practice.
