What is Oral Health Day?
AzDA’s Oral Health Day provides an opportunity to participate in the legislative process, meet face-to-face with legislators in your districts, and build lasting relationships.
When and where is Oral Health Day?
Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 8:45 AM.
It will be at the Arizona State Capitol, 1700 W. Washington, Phoenix, AZ 85007. Old Capitol Building (Supreme Court Chamber)—second floor, room 20.
Why we need to join us
You may feel that you have no influence over the laws that are passed that impact your Arizona practice. That’s not true. When our Arizona legislators see dentists showing up in force in favor or disfavor of legislation, they take notice. Furthermore, legislators want to hear from subject matter experts in the healthcare profession. They want to hear from doctors—they want to hear from you.
What’s at stake this year? INSURANCE ISSUES
We’re introducing legislation (SB1138) that would:
- Require dental insurers and plans to maintain a free website to easily verify benefits.
- Prohibit insurers and plans from deducting from the payment of a current dentist, the overpayment to a prior dentist.
- Require the full payment of benefits that have received a written pre-determination.
How you can get involved right now
