AZ Dental Association Announces 2008 Convention Line-Up
National Meeting to be Kicked Off by Suzanne Somers


Scottsdale AZ, August 14, 2007: The Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) is pleased to announce that Suzanne Somers will deliver the Opening Presentation for its 2008 Western Regional Dental Convention April 3-5 at Phoenix Convention Center.

According to AzDA President Anita Elliott, DDS (Chandler), "Suzanne Somers has come a long way from her ditzy days on television. There is NOTHING ditzy about her! She is a best-selling author and business executive who has created a multi-million-dollar lifestyle empire of personally branded fashion, diet, beauty and exercise products. She is Founder and Director of the Suzanne Somers Institute for the Effects of Addiction on Families and has received the Humanitarian Award from the National Council on Alcoholism, the President's Award from the National Association of American Drug Counselors, Mother of the Year from the National Mother's Day Committee and the Patriotic Civilian Service Award in recognition of her USO tour performances for overseas U.S. troops. She has shown grace and dignity in the face of adversity, takes responsibility for her own health and life and refuses to back down. Up to 7,000 dental professionals from across the United States and Canada are expected to participate. The convention concludes when the AzDA House of Delegates convenes to hear presentations from dignitaries representing the American Dental Association and other national groups as well as discuss and vote on issues relevant to dentistry and the oral health of the citizens of Arizona.
