AzDA is always looking for members who want to step up and shape the future of their association and their profession—especially if you haven’t served in AzDA leadership before. The numbers provided below with each category is a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being the smallest value and 5 being the largest value.


COUNCIL ON BYLAWS

Review and create proposed amendments to the AzDA Constitution Bylaws and Policy Manual and make recommendations to the AzDA House of Delegates.

An ideal personality for this council would be: Interest in governance and an organization’s policies.

COUNCIL ON ETHICS AND MEDIATION SERVICES

6-9 members

The Council serves as an appeal body for ethics and mediation decisions made at the component level, i.e., (CADS, NADS, or SADS).

An ideal personality for this council would be: a member dentist who is impartial and fair. Experience in peer review/mediation.


COUNCIL ON DENTAL EDUCATION AND EVENTS (CDEE)

9-12 members

Recommends and promotes dental CE throughout Arizona, including courses that provide compliance with current Arizona Board of Dental Examiners requirements, for AzDA’s continuing education offerings, annual convention (WRDE) and Fall Conference.

An ideal candidate for this council would be a member dentist or dental team member who is passionate about dental CE and is familiar with dental speakers and current/emerging dental topics, as well as someone that has an interest in scouting speakers and helping to plan and promote AzDA’s events.

COUNCIL ON GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS (CGA)

Monitor legislative developments in Arizona and keep AzDA members/leaders informed. Develops annual legislative initiatives and communicates AzDA’s position on various legislative issues to officials.

An ideal personality for this council would be: a member dentist who has an interest in state legislation that affects the dental profession.


COUNCIL ON MEMBERSHIP & NEW DENTISTS (CM)

9-12 members

Responsible for recruitment and retention of members, consideration of membership categories, new dentist programs and general program development.

An ideal personality for this council would be: an outgoing member dentist who can testify to the benefits of being involved in organized dentistry.

AzDA SERVICES BOARD

The AzDA Services Board evaluates companies, products and services for endorsement as an “AzDA PERKS” partner and negotiates favorable pricing and benefits for member dentists.

An ideal personality for this board would be a dental practice-oriented dentist who is interested in researching new products and services, vetting companies, and negotiating advantageous deals for AzDA members.
